Happy Source Mage GNU/Linux Users!
Wed, 28 Apr 2004 15:12:09 +0200 I have to say out of all tye types of linux I've tried, this is the most helpful channel I've ever been in. All the other ones just ignore you and let you repeat your question a million time. So thanks everyone. :)"

Mon, 30 Jun 2003 22:05:33 +0200 Hi all,
After moving from FreeBSD to SMGL I was pretty impressed ... especially with the way the updates work and the amount of help you can get from the mailinglists/IRC-channel. A lot of people helped a lot and Erics was right: you do learn a lot when you move to SMGL.
Yesterday I updated my system after being away for a week (conference in Greece). The update of the test-grimoire was massive, involving gcc 3.3, glibc 2.3.2, xfree86 4.3.0.1, linux 2.4.21, mozilla 1.4b etcetera. I asked for a little advice on IRC, decided to try things step by step (gcc first
and (almost) everything went smoothly. I actually managed to solve some stuff on my own, without having to ask for help.
In short: I'm a happy user. To quote Erics once more: happy to be here!
Just-my-five-cents'ly yours, Bas --
Fri Apr 4 15:42:58 2003 Hi there, I am an old SourceMage user that just freezed his optimized distro many-many months ago 'cause it was on a narrowband connection. Today I installed SourceMage on another box and... great job guys... I really like it, it was months that I did not "sorcery update" and I must confess that you worked very hard for this release I'm watching now. As a side note I had a minor problem with the eth0 and I'm going to fill a bug (if a bug really exist and I did not make mistakes). Just to finish this e-mail...
THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR HARD WORK.

Mon, 10 Mar 2003 00:21:51 ? (The original can be found here) I Love Source Mage I love Source Mage so much I don't want to sleep I just want to play with sorcery and cast and dispel and resurrect and compile and install and compile and optimise and optimize and optimise and optionally depend on caffeine and eat nothing but sorcery but mummy said caffeine is bad but I think she just wants my caffeine and I'm awake now and I can't sleep and I need sleep and I can't sleep and I think I've used the word and too much and I just did it again and I just did it again and again and again and I don't think this makes much sense but I can't stop because I can't sleep and I can't sleep because I can't stop and need sleep and I love sorcery and I need sleep and I love sorcery and I need sleep and I love sorcery and I need sleep and I love sorcery and I need sleep and I love sorcery and I need sleep and I don't think I can sleep now and I don't think I can ever sleep again I'll just stay here in front of my computer and hack sorcery and slowly quietly go insane but it doesn't matter because I love Source Mage and I don't care and I really need sleep but I haven't been outside today I don't know what its like outside I've never been outside but thats okay because I have sorcery to keep me company sorcery and the world wide web and its much better in here because in here is world wide and out there is just closed minded automatons who don't understand the power of sorcery and I need sleep and people tell me I need sleep but I don't believe them I think they're just trying to get me vulnerable and I can't sleep or they will come for me and take me and take me away and hurt me and I don't like those people because they're not real people the only people I know I know are real I know through my computer my computer tells me who is real and if you don't have a public key how can i tell you are you what do you mean you don't have a pgp key you must have a pgp key everyone I know who I know is real has a public key you are not real you are not real you can't be real you can't be a real person without an email address and I can't trust you because I can't verify your identity and I don't know you who are you you are an impostor you are not my friend I don't know you all my friends have pgp keys and you are not a pgp key and I can't verify your fingerprint and you wont encrypt your speech and I can't trust you I can't trust anyone any more I can't trust anyone except sorcery sorcery is my friend sorcery knows all and sorcery is cool and sorcery does everything and I love sorcery and I love Source Mage and I need sleep and I love Source Mage and I love sleep and I need Source Mage ande I need Source Mage. --
Thu, 29 Aug 2002 16:25:24 +0200 Thumbs up for your guys (grimoire guru's), though - in the end it went really smooth! No problems with GCC 3.2 on my box at all. Surprising. Greetz and keep it up, Peter --
Thu, 4 Jul 2002 10:37:15 -0400 Hello, The GCC 3.1 update is just awesome. Great work

Tue, 11 Jun 2002 20:02:52 -0400 I just had to take a moment and tell the whole sorcery team just how damn impressed I am at how things are going!!! I don't think you nearly hear it enough, but THANK YOU!!! You guys are doing a GREAT job and I can't wait to see what you'll cook up next! Keep up the good work! And thanks again! Jonathan Evraire --

Mon, 29 Apr 2002 17:33:54 +0200 (DK) I would like to thank all the people involved with Source Mage. Keep up the good work with this great distrobution. Best regards, Rasmus Ory Nielsen --
Tues, 02 April 2002 19:36:58 in IRC That's one reason why I'm sticking with Sorcerer, if there is some program I want, a spell is usualy easy to make, and then I can just submit it. And *poof* I'm a developer of the best distro around! dufflebunk --
Sun, 24 Mar 2002 10:26:58 -0800 (USA?) P.S. great work on getting the distro back on its feet! It was odd to come back from a few weeks away from Sorcerer to find that it was declared dead. It is very nice to see it so quickly resurected with such energy! Best, Kyle (not that Kyle) --
Thu, 21 Mar 2002 15:23:30 -0500 (Greenland?) I'm new to Sorcer Linux, only having tried it out for the first time this past weekend (seems to be everything I've always wanted in a distro). [snip] Thanks, Erich D. Heintz --
Tue, 19 Mar 2002 23:22:16 -0800 (USA?) [snip] P.P.S. Keep up the good work. There are many of us out there that appreciate your efforts but do not post. Fred Wade --
Tues, 19 Mar 2002 00:19:09 -0800 (USA?) I think that a lot of serious work has and is taking place. I hadn't run a "sorcery update" since the db3 - db4 debacle. Just about the time I got my courage up to try again Kyle quit. Last Saturday I did the update. My machine compiled stuff for about 6 hours (966 Mhx PIII). No problems, everything worked fine! I think that's quite an achievement! And thanks to you all! --Gary Manningms --
Mon, 18 Mar 2002 22:24:13 -0800 (USA?) [snip] Some of you are definitely doing a top rate job of helping, kudos to you! I find your efforts truly inspiring... Ryan Graham --
Fri, 15 Mar 2002 20:00:07 +0000 Hi All I am a sorcerer user, it has replaced my red hat distro..and I have spent many hours setting it up, and I am please to say it has surpassed red hat in functionality, the time spent was well worth it. I wish I could help, but I have to work shifts to support 5 kids, I have contributed a few spells, and will do more as time permits. Keep up the good work... I certainly appreciate it.... -- Mark Minting --
Fri, Mar 15 01:56:29 PST 2002 (USA) Thanks for keeping the distro alive, J. Simmons --
